What is
Unipass?
Unipass is a free and very easy to use replacement for usernames
and passwords in the UK financial services sector, provided by OSIS
(see below). A Unipass Certificate is a digital certificate (a
small file) that you can install on your machine and associate with
your Assureweb account, and all your other accounts that support
Unipass. Once you have done this you will no longer need to enter
your username and password.
What are the
benefits?
- Completely free to advisers
- Easy to use and set up
- It allows access to Assureweb and provider sites without the
use of multiple usernames and passwords
- You can carry your Assureweb quote data seamlessly into the
provider's site without having to enter your provider login details
as part of the process.
- Saves time when applying for new business via provider websites
using your Assureweb quote. You can carry your Assureweb quote data
seamlessly into the provider's site without having to enter your
provider login details as part of the process.
How do I get
one?
Go to www.unipass.co.uk and follow the instructions
on the site.
What do I do when I have
one?
Click on the "Login with Unipass" button on our login page and
follow the instructions to associate your certificate with your
Assureweb account. This only needs to be completed once. In future
you can log in automatically using the "Login with Unipass"
button.
Can I still use my username
and password?
Yes, you still have the option to log in as previously, and you
will need to use your username and password if you want to use
Assureweb on a different computer to the one holding your
Unipass.
What if I change
firms?
You will need to register for a new certificate with OSIS and
revoke the existing one. You will then have to associate your new
certificate. Visit www.unipass.co.uk for more details.
Who should I contact if I'm
having problems?
For general problems with your Unipass certificate you should
contact the Unipass helpdesk on 0871 22 12345. If your problem is
specific to using your Unipass certificate to access Assureweb you
should contact the Assureweb helpdesk on 0345 408 4022.
What if I receive an error
message when I try to associate or use my
certificate?
An error message could be displayed for a number of reasons:
- The certificate was not issued by Unipass
- The certificate has expired
- The certificate has been revoked
- No certificate has been selected
- No certificates are held
- There are problems with your internet or intranet
connections
If an error message occurs whilst you are attempting to
associate or use your certificate, you should close the browser
session and start again. You can then try again or use your
username and password to log in.
